I.D.

I.D. was the New Zealand premiere of Antony Sher's play. Winner of 4 Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards including Production of the Year - Wellington's Tonys! On my first ever visit to the United States in 2005, to collect the Green Card I had just won before I relocated there two years later, I saw my first Broadway show - Primo at the Music Box Theatre. This was a powerful production based on the memoir by Primo Levi, adapted by and starring Antony Sher. At that time I was reading a friend's copy of I.D. in preparation for our production straight after I got back to NZ. I waited outside the theatre stage door after to see Antony Sher, told him I was a part of the upcoming NZ premiere of his play, and he signed the copy of I.D. as well as my copy of his book Year of the King.
